How does it work?

In short, mosparo does not try to detect if a user is a human being or just a bot. Instead, mosparo scans the form data and tries to detect spam in the content. mosparo needs rules that the owner of a mosparo installation has to provide to detect spam. For example, if you create a rule for the word “example”, mosparo will block every form submission with the word “example” in it.

With this simple method, it’s possible to catch your spam. The user has nothing else to do than to activate a checkbox. mosparo does not use any kind of puzzles or image recognition.

What do I need to use mosparo?

Generally, you need a normal web hosting with PHP 8.1.10 or newer, a MySQL database and a domain or subdomain. Additionally, you need an SSL certificate, but that is standard these days. If you fulfill these requirements, you can install mosparo on your own web hosting.

The more complicated part is to integrate mosparo into your form. Here, it depends on how your form is built. For example, you can use our mosparo Integration plugin if you use WordPress. There are also more integration plugins and modules for other systems.

If there is no plugin for your system, you can also use our programming libraries to integrate mosparo into your system. This step requires some development knowledge.
